Our unique Plitrode (pli- fold, Latin) non-planar electrode technology, with roots in the pharmaceutical industry and made of affordable hydrocarbon polymers, increases the electrode surface area of any PEM fuel cell by as much as 1000 fold, lowering Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by improving performance, reducing platinum, improving fuel cell life and reducing part count.

Plitrode catalyst will soon be made available to the existing one billion dollar plus fuel cell catalyst R&D market.

Hyphase is also developing novel fuel cell architectures optimized for Plitrode, featuring such innovations as MEMS cell level control and a blade stack design, making them among the most scalable, efficient and affordable fuel cells on Earth.
